Team building

Trivia with mixed tables, so people spend an hour beside colleagues they never normally work with. No trust falls, no icebreakers, no one made to stand up and share. The team building happens because people are arguing about the answer to question six.

Holiday parties

Music bingo is the December workhorse: people can drift in and out between courses, nobody has to commit to a whole evening of concentrating, and the playlist does half the entertaining. Book early if you want a good date.

Client and customer events

An evening your clients will remember without it turning into a pitch. The game gives everybody something to talk about, which is the hard part of any client event, and your team gets to be human for a couple of hours.

    Tell me what you are planning

    Headcount, a rough date and the kind of room. That is genuinely all you need to have decided — the format is my job, not yours. Get in touch as early as you can, especially for December.

    Get a plan and a price

    You get a reply within a day or two with a format suggestion, a run time that fits your agenda, and a firm price. If a custom round about your company makes sense, that is where it gets scoped.

    I show up and run it

    I bring the questions, the sound and the gear, arrive early enough to set up without an audience, and host the whole thing. You do not have to MC, keep score, or chase anybody back to their seats.

Corporate game nights: common questions

How much does a corporate trivia night cost?

Cost depends on the size of your group, how far I travel, and how much custom material you want written. Send your headcount and a date and you will get a straight quote back, usually within a day or two.

How many people can play?

Everything from a single team to a whole company. Small groups play as individuals or pairs; big ones split into tables and it becomes a proper tournament. Tell me your headcount and the format is built around it.

How long does a corporate game night run?

It is built around your agenda rather than a fixed run time. Tell me the window you have — an hour before dinner, or a whole evening — and the round count is set to fit it.

Can you host at our office, or do we need a venue?

Either. I bring the game to your office or conference room, to a private room at a bar or brewery, or to an event space you have already booked. If you would rather not organise a venue at all, say so — I know the rooms around the Twin Cities that are built for this.

What do you bring, and what do we need to provide?

I bring the questions, the gear and the energy: the host, the sound, and everything needed to actually run the game. You provide the room, power, and the crowd. If your space has its own AV you would rather use, that is easy to work with.

Can the questions be customised to our company or team?

Yes, and it is the part people remember. A round about your company, your projects or your leadership team lands harder than any general-knowledge round ever will. Send the inside jokes and they get written in.

How far in advance should we book?

The sooner the better, but short notice is worth asking about. December is the exception — holiday party dates go early, so if you know you want one, ask well ahead.

Do you travel outside Minneapolis and Saint Paul?

Minneapolis, Saint Paul and the surrounding metro are home turf. Further out is worth asking about — it usually just means a travel charge.

Can you run it without alcohol, or for a mixed group?

Yes. Nothing about the format depends on a bar — the same game works at a lunch, an afternoon offsite or a dry office party. The tone is set to match the room, so it can be as sharp or as gentle as your group wants.

Can remote teammates join?

Ask — tell me how many people are remote and whether they are joining by video, and you will get a straight answer about what works.

What works best for team building versus a holiday party?

Team building leans toward trivia with mixed tables, so people end up beside colleagues they do not normally work with. Holiday parties lean toward music bingo, which people can drift in and out of while they eat and talk. A spelling bee is the one to pick when you want a spectacle everybody watches.

What happens after we get in touch?

You get a reply within a day or two with format ideas and dates that work. From there it is a short conversation about your group and the room, and then it is booked. You do not need to have any of it worked out before you write.
